Lorain
Digital Academies and the Lorain Public Library are teaming up to
provide co-sponsored LDA Parent Support Meetings. The first meeting was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Main
Branch of the Lorain Public Library. The program was designed especially for our Lorain Digital
Academies parents, but also included invitations to parents who have
expressed interest in the program. The guest speakers for the May meeting were Kathleen Jacobcik,
from Junior Achievement of Lorain County, and Mr. Larry Plank, from the
Children's Department of the Lorain Public Library.
It
should be noted that there will be three special Lorain Digital Academy
Parent Support Meetings scheduled through out the school year, with
additional co-sponsored topic inspired meetings open to the general
public held at other times. The
agenda for the Parent Support Meetings includes updates on important LDA
information, providing current community resource information, and the
latest library news. There
is also time given for refreshments and "fun", as well as the
"ever- valuable" parent sharing experience. The Lorain Digital
Academies parents will be notified of the special meetings by email and
the online newsletter currently being developed on our LDA website.
Be sure to watch for the
next Parent Support Meeting day, date, place, and time to be announced
in late summer. If
you have any questions or comments, please contact Mrs. Pamela Wayton,
Community Liaison at 288-1680.
